In September, we were focused on potential partnership talks both with education instutions and GLAM institutions. At the end of the month Zafer and Basak could come together at Istanbul and made face to face meetings in addition to online meetings with the potential partners.
Dijital Bilgi Derneği
At the begining of the month we made one online meeting with the members and took decisions about giving authorization to project managers for making payments related to the project; and then got the decisions approved officially. We also completed the tax related procedure at the Tax office.
Education Programs
During the month, our search for new institutions for carrying out the education program in the project during the new semester continued. It's important that we agreed on carrying out Wikipedia Education Program for a graudate level and doctorate level courses at the Environmental Engineering Uludag University. It is something that could help filling some content gaps in Turkish wiki and also a good experience to contineue working with Engineering Faculty.
An interesting development was that we have contacted with a professor at Bahcesehir University who is interested in introducing Wikipedia editing to her massive online course. However, the course is asychroned; we continue disscussing how that could be hanled.
Editor community meetings
In September, we organized an online community meeting on 8th and 22nd. The main topics discussed were Turkic E-dit-a-thon, Turkish WikiVoyage at incubator, Code of Conuct Draft review, the partnership talks, the bot on the village articles. GLAM partnership talks
We did have two important meetings during September. One was with Goethe Institute Library and other was with Pera Museum. We visited the Library personally. The Library is closed to the readers but we discussed how we could make some online events together and how wikipedians could use the digital sources of the library more effectively. With Pera Museum, we had a meeting with Digital Media Manager and discusses how we could make material related to temporary exhibitions of the museum avilable at Commons and provide more information on Wikipedia about the thema of the exhibitons. We hope we'll be organizing an GLAM event togeether soon after talking with the curator of the last exhibitons as well.
